Writing of the Anii language
Proposal of a preliminary orthography for the Anii language
This document is in French and in Anii.
The Anii-team of SIL has been invited by the Anii people in Benin and in Togo to support them in the development of their language and in literacy.
This document is Volume 3 in a series about the writing of the Anii-language.
It contains the proposal of a preliminary orthography for the Anii language which we elaborated during the course of our linguistic research. Here is the documentation of its state in 2012 after eight years of research. This document contains all the rules which we propose for writing the Anii language. Each rule is illustrated by several examples.
This document served as the foundation of the discussion-meetings and the elaboration of the Anii orthography in 2012 and 2013. In the appendices of this document you will find the minutes and the detailed studies of the 12 meetings which were held to finalize a standardized orthography for the Anii language.
You will find the final result of this process in Volume 4 of this series, which is the Orthography Handbook for the Anii language.
- Volume 1 documents the writing of the Anii languagefrom its beginnings up to the arrival of SIL
- Volume 2 explores the options for the Anii orthographyin the light of the results of a thorough linguistic analysis.
- This Volume 3 proposes a preliminary orthography for the Anii language.
- Volume 4 is the Orthography Handbook for the Anii language.
These documents document our linguistic research which concerns the Anii orthography as well as the process of elaboration of the standardized orthography for the Anii language.
May the Anii language move ahead! Atɩgɩkrǝ ! Gɩ cê ŋyɩɩ !
